For parents: exploring the maths.

With the freedom to play the game for fun; children & adults alike will naturally practice their mathematical skills.

Maths you can say to sound smart to your friends and family:

  • Oh, these 20 sided dice are in the shape of an icosahedron.

  • The 2D 20 sided shape is called an icosagon which is the root word of icosahedron.

  • Did you know, the average T20 score is about 166 throughout the history of T20 cricket!

  • The white dice averages 26 runs from 20 balls for each wicket. That’s a strike rate of 130 runs per 100 balls.

Questions you can ask your children to prompt mathematical thought processes and discussions:

  1. How many runs per ball did that batsman score? (Ratio skill - strike rate)

  2. Which colour dice is best to score the most runs?

  3. Which colour dice is best to score quick runs? Why?

  4. What is the best combination of batting dice to maximise the chance of winning? (Probability - this is actually a very advanced mathematical problem to solve!)

  5. Add your own prompts and questions if there’s anything interesting that you notice mid-game!
